Canine Country Truckee has memberships in many great organizations that improve our services for your pet. We are proud members of the following organizations:

  • Asociciation of Pet Dog Training (APDT) – The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) is a professional organization of individual trainers who are committed to becoming better trainers through education.
  • Truckee Chamber of Commerce – Introduce local business to opportunity, and then help them to remain on a first-name basis.
  • Pet Tech – Pet Tech is the first international training center dedicated to CPR, First Aid & Care for dogs and cats.
  • ASPCA – Founded in 1866, the ASPCA was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. Our mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” The ASPCA works to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters nationwide
  • Truckee Humane Society – The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoptions, community spay/neuter services and humane education programs.
  • Good Canine Citizen Tester – The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
  • S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator – You’ll attend any puppy or basic training class at least 6 weeks. Your instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to AKC® for enrollment in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. All dogs are welcome to participate in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program including purebreds and mixed breeds.
